Privacy Policy
1. The short version
Astrosimple has no user accounts and no server of its own. The birth data you enter is stored only on your device, all calculations happen on your device, and we do not run analytics or advertising. The only data that ever leaves the device is anonymous crash diagnostics and the request the app makes to check for updates.
2. Data you enter
To draw a chart you enter a name, a date of birth, a time of birth (or mark it unknown) and a place of birth (country and city), optionally a gender used for wording. This information is saved in the app's private storage on your device so that your profiles are still there the next time you open the app. It is not transmitted to us or to anyone else, we cannot see it, and it is not backed up by us. If you use iCloud or iTunes device backups, your device backup may include the app's storage under Apple's terms.
You can edit or delete any profile at any time from the Profiles tab. Deleting the app deletes all of its data.
3. Data we do not collect
We do not collect or have access to: your name or e-mail, your birth data, your location, contacts, photos, health data, purchase history, advertising identifiers, or your use of the app (no screen views, taps or usage statistics are recorded).
4. Crash reports
If the app crashes or hits an unexpected error, a diagnostic report is sent to Sentry (Functional Software, Inc.), a crash-reporting service. A report contains the technical description of the error, the app version, the device model and operating system version, and a random installation identifier used to count how many installations were affected. Reports never contain the profiles you entered, your name or any account information; we do not send IP addresses or personal identifiers with them. Reports are kept for 90 days.
5. App updates
On launch the app may check with Expo Application Services (650 Industries, Inc.) for an updated version of its JavaScript code. The request carries the app version, platform and a random installation identifier for delivery statistics. It does not include any of your data.
6. Links to other sites
The Privacy Policy and Terms links in Settings open pages on astrosimple.app in an in-app browser. Those pages are served by our hosting provider (Cloudflare), which processes standard web-server logs under its own privacy policy.
7. Children
Astrosimple is rated 12+ in the App Store. Because the app does not collect personal data, we do not knowingly process any information about children.
8. Your rights
Since we hold no personal data about you, requests to access, correct or delete data are fulfilled directly on your device: edit or delete profiles in the app, or delete the app. If you have a question about this policy or believe we hold data about you, write to privacy@astrosimple.app.
9. Changes
We may update this policy when the app changes. The effective date at the top shows the current version; material changes will be announced in the app.
